S. Korea builder wins $1.76 bln order from Vietnam

Hyundai Engineering and Construction, South Korea’s largest builder, said Tuesday it has won a US$1.46 billion (S$1.76 billion) order to build two power plants in Vietnam.

Chinese firms get $1.3 bln power plant deal in Vietnam

State utility Vietnam Electricity (EVN) group has awarded a $1.3 billion contract to a consortium of Chinese companies to build a coal-fired power plant in Vietnam’s southern region, the official Vietnam News Agency reported on Friday.

PetroVietnam’s new power plant to buy Indonesia, Australia coal

PetroVietnam has awarded its subsidiary a contract to build a 1,200-megawatt coal-fired thermal power plant in southern Vietnam, which will use coal imported from Indonesia and Australia, a local newspaper said on Wednesday.

Vietnam aims to start alumina production in September: report

Vietnam will produce the first alumina from a bauxite complex in the Central Highlands in September after months of delays caused by adverse weather, power shortages and slow equipment delivery, the official Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.
