Vietnam power utility’s salaries subject to further inspection

The labor ministry will inspect salaries at the state-owned power utility Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and some of its member companies, Tuoi Tre quoted Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen as saying Thursday.

Vietnam electricity market reform delayed by a few months: report

The Vietnamese government, which piloted a competitive power generation system in July, has decided to delay the formal launch of the system to the full-fledged market, saying preparations are still not complete.

ADB approves loan to Vietnam’s new eco-friendly power plant

The Asian Development Bank said Thursday it has approved a loan of US$309.89 million for a new power plant in southern Vietnam, because the demand for electricity is growing in the country.

S. Korea builder wins $1.76 bln order from Vietnam

Hyundai Engineering and Construction, South Korea’s largest builder, said Tuesday it has won a US$1.46 billion (S$1.76 billion) order to build two power plants in Vietnam.
