Vietnam more vulnerable to world slump than neighbors, HSBC says

Vietnam’s current-account deficit, low reserve coverage of short-term external debt and imports and high inflation make it more vulnerable to a global recession than four of its Southeast Asian neighbors, according to an HSBC Holdings Plc report e-mailed Monday.

VietinBank to issue new shares for boosting capital

VietinBank, Vietnam’s top partly private lender by assets, has secured central bank permission to raise its registered capital by a fifth to VND20.23 trillion (US$963 million) via a share issue, the central bank said on Monday.

TNK-BP seeks to bid for more Vietnam oil/gas blocks
