Once completed in 2010, nine housing projects for workers and low-income earners will provide affordable houses to 20,000 people in Ho Chi Minh City, said the municipal Construction Department.
The city’s housing projects will be expanded to additional 48 ha of land in all districts in the 2010-2015 period.
Chairman Le Hoang Quan of the municipal People’s Committee has instructed the department to collaborate with relevant agencies to speed up the construction of these projects and review environmental hygiene at workers’ houses built by the city and individuals.
The municipal People’s Committee also instructed Thu Duc district to consider site clearance and compensations and District 9 to soon build 900 resettlement apartments this year to serve student dormitory construction project.
